Raise the brass knocker and when the door is opened step into the parlor hall.
-- Inventory of Cherry Hill first floor, Catherine B. Rankin, late 1920s

Historic Cherry Hill is currently undergoing an extensive restoration that includes structural repairs, window restoration and environmental improvements. All of the work being done is necessary to safeguard this historic structure. The museum has suspended its regular tour and visiting hours to instead offer the public a first hand look at what goes on during a historic house restoration. The museum is taking this rare opportunity to offer tours to the public based on the restoration project.

Our Behind-The-Scenes Restoration Tour is offered on Wednesday afternoons at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. and on Saturday afternoons at 2 and 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and college students, $2 for children between the ages of 12 and 18.

Our Architecture Hunt for Families is offered Saturdays between 1 and 2 p.m. This learning-to-look activity allows families with children to investigate the architecture of the house on their own and reveal some real preservation problems. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-11.

If you can't visit us in person, please visit us on facebook! Every Friday the museum has a Curatorial Curiosities game on facebook in which the Director of the museum posts a picture of one object from the museum's collection of 20,000 objects. Fans then try to guess what the object is. It's a fun game to participate in and it can get very competitive!

Historic Cherry Hill and its collections belong to you-with the board, volunteers, and staff serving as stewards of this public trust on your behalf. We want you to share in our astonishment when some little known detail is unearthed, and give you the opportunity to marvel at all the "stuff" which was, in the end, Emily Rankin's greatest legacy.
