A Sad Loss-Carole F. Huxley, Cultural Leader, Cherry Hill Board Member, and Dear Friend published January 30, 2020

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of friend and former Cherry Hill board member, Carole Huxley.  Carole served as the Deputy Commissioner for Cultural Education for 24 years and after her retirement as the Interim Commissioner of Education.  In the words of her obituary, “Carole had a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know her. She was a dedicated public servant; loyal friend; exceptional mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother; and a passionate volunteer for the causes in which she believed.” We are honored to have been one of the causes that Carole championed. Her high esteem for Cherry Hill and its programs served every day as a reminder of the museum’s value and as a validation of our work.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 am in the Carole F. Huxley Theater at the New York State Museum in Albany, N.Y. Donations in Carole’s honor may be made to Historic Cherry Hill or Mount Holyoke College (indicate with Carole Huxley ’60).
